Monster Lair - Nightmare Islands

Hi everyone, and welcome to my Monster Lair - Nightmare Islands map release! This 40x30 map provides a fun & versatile way to represent a nightmare or eldritch realm. The map features three distinct sections that you can use as your own mini maps or use them all to represent each island connected via the long rope bridge.

On the first two islands, I've included them with & without nightmare features. The first island has a dark, reflective pool of water to represent your own nightmare within. The second island features a child's bedroom with unknown horrors lurking in the darkness under the bed. Of course, I have created versions without these features as well to make them more versatile. Since distance is not as we know it in our world, the rope bridge could extend in an infinite direction either way, with the players needing to face their fears and plunge into the inky abyss below.

To add to the versatility here, I have created a version with the background only so you can use these maps for your own eldritch horror adventures, or campaign settings such as D&D's Spelljammer.

I've created 5 different variants to help you set the perfect mood for your encounters. The variants included in this pack are:

Variants

Banshee: Blue tones create a ghostly feel to this map akin to a spirit world. This variant comes with & without nightmare features, along with a background-only map.
Eldritch: A blend of greens & yellows creates an unnerving, nightmare feel to this horrible world. This variant comes with & without nightmare features, along with a background-only map.
Gloom: A muted and dark map, focusing on deepening the shadows to give a foreboding feel. This variant comes with & without nightmare features, along with a background-only map.
Haunted: This eerie green-colored map creates dark shadows with a ghostly feel to it. This variant comes with & without nightmare features, along with a background-only map.
Hazy: A darker version of the Eledritch color with deep shadows & yellow tones. This variant comes with & without nightmare features, along with a background-only map.
