The barren field ahead of you is scarred with pools of a toxic liquid that is potent enough to leave nothing but bones behind. No creature chooses to live in such a harsh landscape, not even the plants and trees can flourish here; the only plant life is that of the overly-sized mushrooms that seem to thrive in this landscape. Several raised platforms almost grow out of the dirt; whoever made them and their purpose are not something most adventures would want to learn in a hurry. The pools themselves are not the only thing you should worry yourself about though, the toxic pools leave behind thick waves of toxic fumes that drift in the stale winds of the pools.
Alternatively, the field has been purified and is now replaced with pools of water; the dirt has started to turn green with small amounts of grass trying to take hold of this once harsh landscape. The sun starts to shine once more on this land, and the skeletons of those who perished in the toxic pools now sit at the bottom of the water pools. Also, there is a version of this map in which no man enters without a strong purpose; that of one in which all the pools have been replaced with blood. Pools of blood sit splattered across this landscape; for what purpose or what caused it, no one wishes to learn.
