Cavalier boots were popular with the pirates who first settled in this protected bay, which is how it got it's name. They settled here because the ways in are narrow and difficult to navigate a large ship through... unless you are either very familiar with the route, or hire a local pilot. These days the 3 small settlements in the bay, which act like one town, are 'apparently' mainstream every day places, with no pirates in sight, they even have 3 watchtowers out on the headlands to keep an eye out for traders and travelers who want to enter the bay... However, a few locals know that many pirate crews still call Cavalier Bay home. The famous Captain Boots has their private home somewhere in the bay... [checkout my recent battle map 'Boots Cove' .... and you will be able to find it on this map]
...At least, that is the story I had in mind when drawing this
With the 3 little settlements, it could be played as new villages popping up over time as more space was needed or new groups moved into the area. There could be some serious rivalries going on between the 3 settlements. Or some other interesting history
Full res Set: 5400 × 3900 pixels - these ones are cut into 2 halves: A & B … each full map is equivalent to 18x13 @ 300dpi, so you could download these and print them out or use them online and have plenty of zoom-ability to see the details
Low res Set: 2520 × 1820 pixels - These are lower res and not cut up - They could be used as is, or as handouts … each map is equivalent to 18 x 13 @ 14dpi
Happy Plotting - I would love to hear about what you come up with some time :-)
