Coastal Cottage

Hi everyone, and welcome to my Coastal Cottage map release! This 30x40 map features a cozy cottage overlooking an ocean bluff. There is a walkway that leads to the outer wall with large bushes creating a sense of privacy. Past the wall, you'll find this cozy cottage surrounded by greenery with the sounds of waves crashing below.

This map features the following levels:

Exterior: Includes the outer gate, the house and yard, and the lower bluffs and sandy beach where a small fishing dock can be located. The rocks provide a natural barrier from the larger waves, so the waters here are relatively calm and easy to fish. There is also a small cave on the cliffs that can be explored, which contains a secret passageway under the house.

Interior: The interior is a single-room cottage and storage shed depicting a simple life. There are hints, though, that the person living here is not what they seem to be. I created a variant with a Protector Golem standing silent guard over the home and its occupant. Perhaps this individual does not want to be found and wants to live out the rest of their life in simplicity?

Cellar / Cave: There is a standard storage cellar under the house, but hidden with a false backing on a cabinet is a secret passageway carved out by the Dwarves. This secret passageway contains the history of the occupants former lives, like a military general, now their medals and armor lie hidden but serve as a reminder of their glory days. In the event of assassins finding this secret, they are prepared to secretly leave via this tunnel and by boat while their Protector Golem holds them off!

This map, though a simple cottage, will pave the way for plenty of social and combat encounters for your games!

Variants

I've created 6 different variants to help you set the perfect mood for your encounters. Each variant contains various weather effects such as fog, rain, and sun rays as well as a "no lights" version of each color. Additionally, there is a variant both with and without the protector golem. The variants included in this pack are:

Dark Fairytale: This variant evokes a playful yet creepy atmosphere, with deep, darkened hues that bring out the rich colors of the map.
Sunny Day: A bright and cheerful version, focusing on a sunny and vibrant aesthetic to give a warm, inviting feel.
Ghostly: Bathed in an eerie green glow, this variant creates a haunted and spectral ambiance.
Gloom: This version tones down the map's colors, deepening the shadows to evoke a somber and moody environment.
Warm: A balanced mix of light and warmth, this variant enhances the map's vibrancy with rich, inviting colors.
Night: Illuminated by silvery moonlight, this version creates a serene yet mysterious nighttime setting.
