The air is heavy with the scent of pine and damp earth as your party trudges through the dense forest. Shadows stretch long in the late afternoon sun, and the faint sound of a distant waterfall adds a rhythmic pulse to the stillness. Your journey has brought you to the foot of a towering hill, its rocky face partially overgrown with vines and moss. But there’s something odd about this hill. Its shape is too defined, too unnatural.
As you approach, the truth becomes disturbingly clear: the hill is no hill at all. A gargantuan figure lies sprawled among the greenery, its body the size of a small mountain. This is the Sleeping Hill Giant, a creature of myth and legend, its snoring deep and thunderous, rattling the very stones beneath your feet.
Local lore tells of this giant, a remnant of a forgotten age when titans roamed the land. Some say its sleep is eternal, cursed by an ancient sorcerer for crimes long forgotten. Others claim it wakes when the land is in peril, wreaking havoc on those who disturb its rest.
And now, a troubling rumor has spread through nearby villages: strange tremors have been felt, as if the giant stirs. Farm animals are fleeing their pens, crops are wilting, and the forest itself seems uneasy. Whispers of an ancient power hidden beneath the giant have drawn adventurers and opportunists alike, hoping to claim its secrets—or to ensure the giant never wakes.
But as you stand in its shadow, you realize that disturbing the Sleeping Hill Giant may be more perilous than anyone imagined. Is this truly just a dormant colossus, or is there something far more sinister lying in wait beneath its moss-covered form?
The question hangs in the air as the forest grows unnervingly silent, save for the deep rumble of the giant’s breathing. What will you do?
