This is a series of four maps that work well together. I will provide you with a story to use them in conjunction, but you can use them however you see fit.

Our heroes have been hired by a renowned sage for a research mission: to copy ancient mystical runes found in various parts of the forest onto paper for study and understanding. It is said that these runes hold arcane secrets that could revolutionize magical knowledge and bestow extraordinary powers.

The ultimate goal is to gather all the rune inscriptions and return to the sage with the collected information safely. If they succeed, they will be generously rewarded for their efforts.

Our heroes arrive at the first destination of their mission: a series of natural ponds located at the base of a majestic cliff. The crystal-clear waters reflect the sunlight, creating a serene and almost magical environment. However, their goal is at the top of the cliff, where several ritual stones are arranged in a circle. These ancient stones are inscribed with runes that emit a faint glow, indicating their latent power. According to the sage's letter, these runes must be activated by infusing each one with magic, but in a specific order that, unfortunately, the sage did not detail.

To access the ritual stones and copy the runes, the heroes must find a way to scale the cliff. They may need to improvise a method of ascent. Meanwhile, at the bottom of the map, a stone bridge controls the passage of travelers. The guards who oversee this bridge charge a toll to those who wish to cross but are known to be somewhat corrupt. They enjoy confiscating certain valuable belongings from travelers, so the heroes should proceed with caution and possibly find a way to avoid or bribe the guards.

Upon completing the activation of the runes and copying their inscriptions, the heroes will have taken the first step in their mission to uncover arcane secrets, thus advancing in their task for the sage.
