Description found on a loose page, wedged between two account books of the house of Baakama and Son. Resale and supply. Guild of the Void Merchants.

"It is rare enough to see this kind of ship docked that I stop working for a moment, pick up a pen and describe to you what is currently floating at the quay of my modest hangar.

Since this morning the goblins have been swarming all over the place, loading and unloading without apparent logic, and by tonight they will be gone with all the powder I sold them, not a barrel less. Despite the messy effect these little creatures give off, they are extremely organized and their "leaders" if you can call them that, are far from stupid. I learned a lot from talking to a few of them who were enjoying the bar while the rest of their workforce did the dirty work.

They call it the "Maw". A gigantic heap of metal and wood that can accommodate up to 120 crew members, not counting the goblins that can be crammed into every corner of the vessel. Yet without any flags, the ship seems to belong to a fleet that the officers respectfully call "the Flaming Cask". I, who always thought that goblins were scavengers, am forced to admit that I was wrong. There seems to be entire fleets of green-skins and I shudder with terror at the sight of this warship which has without question some disturbing arguments.
Hard to miss, a cannon of ridiculous proportions emerges from the bow of the ship. The strategy seems to be basic but effective: pound away whenever possible and, if the situation requires it, move the "Maw" forward to the side of the enemy ship and make the boarding ship vomit his troops from the main bridge. If nothing interesting is to be saved on the opposite ship or if it is necessary to give the coup de grace to a somewhat recalcitrant adversary, it is always possible to fire a ball of several hundred kilos through the hull at close range. Result guaranteed.

I tried to sell the captain some food but he laughed so hard at me that I wondered for a moment if he wasn't planning to eat my workers before leaving.
Fortunately none of this happened. The captain was delighted to introduce me, with great pride, to their Fongaloid master. A strange goblin, half botanist, half shaman and half lunatic who showed me around the ship's corridors. I could see that the "Maw" was able to provide for the needs of the crew by growing large quantities of mushrooms, probably edible in every dark corner.

The supply system was also explained to me very soberly by the fungaloid master: "Goblins give Meat Juice to da Maw. Da Maw give Mushroom to goblins." I can't say what percentage of this brilliant explanation was lost in the translation between my language and his.

But the hour of departure is already ringing and all the swarming creatures are hopping back to the ship. The huge metal beast waits for no one. The lights crackle for a moment. Then the planks and sheet metal creak for a long time as the ship starts moving again and slides towards the void.
As I am about to put down my pen, I catch a glimpse of the last of the sailors from the Maw who had remained on the quay, jumping down to their ship. Clinging to the hull or swinging in the ropes, their cries of joy still echo through the warehouse.
No one is prepared to contemplate the absurd when it takes on such grandiose proportions as Maw's ship. Especially when, against all expectations, the strange, the bizarre and the irrational seem to work so well! "
