The players are promted to choose a side by the statue at the start of the room. If they choose to attack the orb of darkness, they will be attacked by the dungeon's forces, and praised by the god of light. If the players attack the orb of light, the master of the dungeon will reward them, but the god of light will attack them instead.
Another stone statue tells your team to not trust the light. The middle brazier will not do anything harmful if the players enter it's light, since it only serves as a teaching moment, but the player who entered should hear voices in his head telling him to stay away from the light. there's a chest lit up by a brazier in of the corners, if the players decide to open it, the chest will attack them. There's also a chest hidden in darkness in the opposite corner, this chest is real.
A statue tells the players that "The darkness needs a new emperor". There's a wall of braziers holding off a wall of magical darkness that the players cannot see or pass through. There's also a throne without light right next to the stairs with a skeleton on it. If the players move the skeleton and sit on the throne the player who sits down can hear "Let us now see if you are worthy.", and is then teleported to the opposite throne behind the wall of darkness. Every player can do this.
This is a test of strength. The portal in the middle has a boss of your choice and the four at the side can spawn smaller enemies of your choice.
The shadow orbs leak small ammounts of light but make it harded to hit the targets next to them. The players can decide to break the orbs, which will make the boss easier, but will upset the master of the dungeon, or they can decide to slay the boss without breaking the orbs, in this case the master of the dungeon will praise them. You could also rewards or punish your players depending on what they do, this is dependant on your DM-ing style.
The players see two paths in front of them, one clad in darkness and one lit by braziers.
If the players go on the side of the braziers, whenever they move a tile there's a 1d4 chance it will spawn an enemy of your choice at the top-left brazier.
The path of darkness is safe and there's even a hidden chest on it.
