At last, I have put the tunnels behind me. I have reached a cavernous room which I presume must be deep beneath the structure on the surface. I can hear rushing water below, but the darkness is too thick to see anything off the side of the walkways. But I am not alone.
A creature of otherworldly presence and biology sits in a pool of water like a monarch upon a throne. Filled with fear, I turned to run back through the tunnels I had gladly just escaped, but the being spoke. Or rather, I heard its mind in mine.
The mind beckoned me to it, to engage it in conversation and tell it of the world above. My nerves subsided as it became clear that this ancient being had been stuck within this room for longer than I could comprehend and had much ancient knowledge to share. We swapped stories for hours, of my adventures and the mind's secrets.
I shall tell you some of those secrets in due time, my friends, and much more about this wonderful mind I eventually came to call friend.
