Thornwood Forest Road

Hi everyone, and welcome to my Thornwood Forest Road map release! This 40x30 map features a twisting forest road through the Thornwood Forest. I created this map to provide encounter ideas on a more tactical level. With elevation and large boulders hiding the view of any ambusher, this map is perfect for any combat encounters you might have planned in the treacherous forests. And let's face it, as a DM myself; we can never have enough encounter maps in the wilderness, right?

I've created 12 different variants to help you set the perfect mood for your encounters. The variants included in this pack are:

Variants

Sunny Day: This bright and vibrant map features a warm, sunny day for your heroes to enjoy. This variant comes with and without sun rays.
Ghostly: Have a dark fantasy campaign planned? This map has tones of green to give it a more haunted and eerie feeling. This variant comes with and without fog.
Gloom: Another great map for any dark fantasy campaign (perhaps those in mist-covered woods?). This gloomy version has deep shadows and a desaturated color palette to add to the dreary feel. This variant comes with and without fog.
Night: It's dangerous to travel the roads at night. Who knows who (or what) might be lurking in the shadows cast by the silvery moonlight?
Overcast: The sounds of distant thunder rumbles through the valley as your players step on muddle ground and slosh through rain puddles. Perfect for varying your weather! This variant comes with and without rain.
Verdant: A deeper green and verdant feel makes this forest seem lush and overgrown. A great variant for any druidic or green dragon encounters!
Warm: This variant focuses on the warmer colors of the terrain to set a softer and calming mood. Great for either an early morning or a dusk variant.
Dark Fairytale: With bright yet eerie colors, this map creates an almost unsettling or even mischievous mood. Great for dark fantasy campaigns with lots of Fey creatures abound!
