Description

"To exist in this realm is to live within the forge. The sweltering, intolerable heat permeates everything. Precipices of burned stone radiate with it, and even the air sparks as if ready to ignite into a blaze at the slightest catalyst. When the tide is low, the ravines that separate the precipices emit acrid fumes, rising visibly above the scorched plateaus from the caverns surrounding them.

Such a place should seem inhospitable enough, but it is when the tide rises that the crucible truly shows its contempt for all life, sparing only the most enduring of species. At first, only a glow emanates from deep within the crevices. In a matter of moments, red, flaming waves break upon the sides of the precipices, melting even the stone the precipices stand upon. As they lose their foundation, the plateaus shift and sway as if they were rafts on an open, infernal sea. Just as quickly the tide recedes and the jagged precipices find themselves fused to new topography, a new cracked and blasted horizon.

One must be careful when delving into this place. It can change at a moment's notice, swept up in hellfire, and reshaped without rhyme or reason."
