When the galactic empire needs a show of force or need to occupy a planet, but don’t want to deploy a massive garrison, they deploy a small military fortress manned by a small squad of troopers, ships, and vehicles.
These garrisons are self-sufficient requiring minimal supplies to function for long periods of time. However, they are designed to be quick deploy and quick to extract. These small garrisons can be broken down into small segments for transport and can be assembled or disassembled in a matter of hours.
When full disassembled they can fit in the cargo hold of a mid-sized freighter. A larger military star cruiser typically has dozens in cargo holds.
Each small garrison has three decks, "A" Deck is at the top, "B" Deck in the middle and "C" Deck is on the planet surface.
