The drowned village of Ailmere was once a picturesque hamlet sat by the side of a peaceful lake.
Rising waters caused by a mining activity upstream led to a series of flash floods that submerged half of the village and drowned many of the villagers. Ailmere was abandoned and fell to ruin as the lake waters rose.
Today Ailmere offers shelter for outlaws or travellers within its ruined homes, although care must be taken as the drowned dead sometimes stray out from the water in search of a meal.
