Deep within the heart of a mountain, a vile cult has tapped into a malevolent force, corrupting the very essence of the earth. Unless the corruption is stopped, it will spread like a plague, devouring everything in its path. The adventurers must delve into the treacherous depths of the mountain to find the source of this blight and put an end to it before it’s too late.
This adventure can be used as both a standalone one-shot or seamlessly integrated as a side quest within an ongoing campaign. Its flexibility allows it to be adapted to any setting and is suitable for a party of at least three characters at 5th level.
As a one-shot adventure, it offers a complete story arc with a clear objective: to delve into the mountain, confront the cult, and cleanse the blight. The condensed nature of a one-shot ensures that the adventure can be completed within a single gaming session.
Alternatively, as a side quest, this adventure can be seamlessly woven into an existing campaign. The party might encounter rumors of the blighted mountain while traversing a nearby region, or a knowledgeable NPC could mention the cult’s activities as a subplot that ties into the larger narrative.
