Tremor on the Coast | 9th Level 5e Adventure

Where to Include This Adventure

Tremor on the Coast is a Fifth Edition adventure designed and optimized for four players of 9th level. This adventure is an epic boss battle set in an urban settlement. The scenes are designed to take place in the city’s harbor and outside courtyard of a council building.

Plot

Three deep gnome brothers have constructed a massive clockwork mech to exact revenge on the city that cast them out.

Background

The sun slowly dips below the calm waters of Gracelark harbor. All is still until the tremors start once again. The waters begin to churn, boats sway and screams ring out as a massive metal hand reaches out from the depths to take another vessel below. There have been numerous sightings lately of an enormous metal figure along the coastline which has been causing fear and apprehension among sailors and merchants.
Unbeknownst to all, this ominous creature is a vehicle created and piloted by three deep gnome brothers named Leif, Gref, and Herman Ironpick. The brothers have taken on the pseudonyms: Click, Clack, and Clank for most of their lives which they have spent as hardworking engineers for a mining operation called Irgin Enterprises. The operation is owned by Mr. Irgin Fourrider from the city of Gracelark. The Ironpick brothers used their knack for mechanical engineering to build many contraptions to aid Irgin Enterprises, which ultimately raised production efficiencies and lowered labor costs. Life for the Ironpicks went well for a time. Their careers prospered and they gained a lot of wealth eventually becoming lead engineers for Irgin Enterprises. All this changed the day Irgin decided to mass produce the Ironpick’s inventions and cut them out of any profits of the sales. Due to their work contracts, Fourrider owned all the machines, schematics, and patents for the brother's excavating equipment. This enraged the eldest of the three Ironpick’s: Clank, who proceeded to berate Irgin for his selfishness and greed. Irgin retaliated by firing the three and blacklisting them from the engineering industry of the entire republic. The brothers were cast onto the street, and soon turned to drink and, squandered the fortune they had previously had. In their bitterness, the brothers concocted a plan to take out Fourrider and bring down the elite council that thrives on the hard work of others. It took nearly six years, but the brothers were able to build a massive vehicle of destruction in a secret cave system. They called the machine Tremor, and it's terror would soon be known across the coast. Click, Clack and Clank were determined to earn back the renown that was unjustly stripped away from them and bring down those who made them fools.
