Compatibility Notes with Dungeons and Dragons 2014

If using D&D 2014 character options in D&D 2024, follow these rules to ensure compatibility.

• Backgrounds. 2014 backgrounds don’t include ability score adjustments. If using a 2014 background, increase one ability score by +2 and another by +1, or increase three ability scores by +1 (max 20).
• Species. Ignore ability score increases from 2014 species. Use only those from your background.
• Feats. If your 2014 background doesn’t grant a feat, choose an Origin feat.
