Skweeeeeeeeeeee .... the scream of pulleys rolling down wires breaks the previously peaceful silence of the canyon and suddenly there are enemies everywhere.... or perhaps it is the gleeful screams of children out on an adventure day?
I used to be a Zipline Canopy-tour guide taking groups of people on the wires through the tree-tops.... and I always wondered what it might be like to fly in a canyon instead of a forest... So this map is, in a way, bringing those dreams into life - or at least into a more visible imagining!
I have made it with as many interesting little elements as possible... with multiple levels and line-of sight obstructions as well as 4 cliff caves, a water cave and a ruined tower with an old trap door that create ways that you can extend the map with your own dungeon/cavern plots - or just have them as places where the enemy emerges from.
... And then there are the floating islands and floating space-islands versions....
Whatever you plot for this map, whether it be a battle, a 3D maze challenge, a day out with a bunch of kids that your players have to keep safe, or rescue, or turn it into a fun players hideout location ... I hope you have some great adventures and create some good memories - I would love to hear about them sometime :-)
To quickly read the zipline heights: The single post is the top/high end of a zipline and the double-post is the bottom/lower end.
30x45 or 60x90: I drew this map to 'work' at different scales - depending on how much space you would like to fly around in, or if you want to play with long range weapons etc... At the smaller size, the stairs and river-side trail are a little narrower than a 1 inch PC token - so that they would not feel too big at the larger map size. The only drawback is that at the larger size, the tower trapdoor is a bit 'big' (maybe giants made it?)
5 map Variations: Clear day, Foggy day, Night, Sky islands & Space islands
Plus 2 'clean' Clear day versions: one with the ziplines removed and one with the ziplines and trees removed.
Grids:
For each of the 5 map variations there are:
* Versions without a grid (equivalent to 30x45 @ 140 pix per square)
* At 140 pixels per 'square': 30x45 Square grids & 30x34 Hex grids
* At 70 pixels per 'square': 60x90 Square Grids & 60x90 Hex grids
