The Into The Wilds Jungle & Swamp 01 Map Bundle contains Day, Night, Rain, Alternate & Unfurnished variants of 14 different themed maps, a total of 93 new maps for your campaign in gridded and gridless format! These maps are intended to be more generic than my regular sets and are perfect to drop in for random encounters when on the road or for when the party takes an unexpected turn and you want to be prepared!
This Bundle Includes:
Primitive Village - Deep in the jungle a small collection of simple huts surround a central fire pit. While the people who live here seem to have no connection to the outside world, they are surprisingly well informed of its goings-on.
Clearing - This path is clearly well trod, but who or what by, it is hard to tell with daily rain bursts washing away or merging most of the tracks. When the ground is dry, this may be a pleasant place to stop for a while and wait to see.
Three Heads - Three carved stone heads face a central platform, each in a different state of disrepair, but otherwise identical. They are clearly visited regularly, but when waiting in the space between them, time seems to pass in an uneven way.
Waterfall - Following the river seems like a good way to get out of the Jungle, right up until the moment you start hearing the roaring sound of a waterfall. Do you try to carefully climb down the cliff face and get a little wet, or take the quick way down and get a lot wet? Either way, you had better hope that whatever lives in the cave behind the thunderous wall of water is asleep.
Jungle Ruin - Remnants of past settlements litter the jungle interior. Perhaps it was once one large civilisation, or maybe there have been many iterations of people trying to tame the wilderness and failing. Regardless of the sites history, it might provide some semblance of safety and normalcy amongst the alien soundscape of the jungle. Make sure to keep the fire lit through the night.
Beach - You wake up in your back, they sky is a deep clear blue. The sound of waves gently breaking is overpowered by the strong hum of a chorus of insects, and an occasional bird call further away. You are wet, soaked even, and the rough feeling of sand is on the back of your neck. You have little memory of how you got here. The sting of rain on your cheek, a flash of lightning in the dark, the thunderous sound of wood breaking violently, the screams of your fellow sailors, and then blackness. Where are they? More importantly, where are you?
The Marshes - The path through the marshes is well trodden, but not without danger. Swirling mists and glowing lights can lead even the most confident of travellers off the beaten track, and those who stray too far do not often return.
Crone's Hut - Deep in the swamp is a rotten old hut, suspended above the murky waters on tall stilts. It is said that an old crone lives there who can tell your fortune, and for the right price maybe even change it. Beware though, she does not deal in gold or treasures.
Wetlands - At a certain point the swamps become more water than land, unless you happen to be carrying a boat this is the time to turn back. Many creatures lurk in the grimy pools, and sometimes even the corrupted plant life will try to drag you below the surface, the swamp claiming you for itself.
Sunken Ruins - This region was once lush and green, and was home to many, but a corruption placed upon the land caused it to deteriorate into the murky bog you see today. Many of the remnants of this civilisation have already been claimed by the swamp, but a few scattered ruins can still be found, sinking into the mire.
Swamp Village - Despite the fetid conditions, there are some who choose to call the swamp home. For many of them, there were few other options. Some were too poor to live in the kingdom's towns and cities, while others had reason to flee more civilised locales. Whatever their reason for coming here, the swamp has forced them to become both steadfast and wary.
