This set continues some themes I started in other sets and I continue to borrow heavily from pop culture icons from the horror genre. Some of the images were created specifically for games I've run. The possessed barnyard animals were created for a Shadow of the Demonlord adventure I'm planning to run in a virtual con featuring such creatures. The hobgoblin's look is unique to Shadow of the Demonlord and a departure from how they are depicted in other rpg's. The purple crayon children and monsters were inspired by a childhood book called Harold and the Purple Crayon, and which I've twisted the concept for an adventure I'm developing. I may delve into other childhood books I read and can warp for future sets. The goblin mutants I specifically needed for an adventure and drew inspiration from the Book of Vile Darkness from D&D 3.5. The crab demon minion is a servant to the demon prince Lord Garigular, which I featured in my first set and is a creation that dates back to high school where my friend and I tried our hand at making a boss villain. I decided to sprinkle a few character tokens in this set, mostly because some of my players are too lazy to find suitable tokens for their characters, so I had to draw them one. One last comment before I shut up about this set already, the "emperor" was added after recently watching Star Wars with my wife who had never seen it before. Ok then.
