New-Hope is based on a fantasy version of a 1000A.D. French settlement, though not a true name, it would be called something more like Nouvelle-Espoir. This small remote village built itself around a wonderful river stream, harnessing the water's movement to grow all their crops in the village's center. They have seen many disasters arise in this little village, and oftentimes, the north revolts against the south. When this occurs, control over the bridges becomes deadly.
