Whether you are role-playing in a grim-dark fantasy/sci-fi universe or a more grounded and realistic setting, your crew can always count on this simple and reliable spaceship.
The loud keening of the engines died down and the anti-gravitic generators took hold, as the shuttle approached the aerodrome. With its landing gear extended the craft looked like an awkward tortoise being gently put down on its stubby feet. Then with a loud hiss, a ramp on the rear of the vessel opened up. Without missing a second the crew inside climbed down carrying the first of the cargo and efficiently loading the boxes the shuttle carried onto an already waiting truck. As soon as the truck was full and the shuttle empty, they all climbed back in and flew off into the sky where another shipment was waiting for them to collect from the space station.
Intended for civilian use, cargo shuttles such as this are a common sight in air-space traffic of multiple planets across the galaxy. First developed in the early years of the IFoSS (Intergalactic federation of star-systems), many iterations of the “common space shuttle” exist that serve different civilian and in rare cases military support services. The standard pattern that can be purchased with federation credits is of course the “cargo hauler” which comes with a lot of empty space but can be easily modified to serve as a transport or even a mobile home. When it is in use by the military it can also be armed, having two laser-gun mountings on the front next to the cockpit and allowing the pilot to fire at whatever the shuttle is facing. Of course since this vessel is a slow-moving and awkward one, this limits its use as an attack craft, but that doesn’t stop enthusiastic civilian owners who despite the legal implications often make their own modifications. In the federation, the humble cargo shuttle represents freedom as it gives mankind the ability to leave the confines of their planet and do whatever they want.
This is the Cargo Shuttle, a highly detailed spaceship for your players to use as their mobile base. Even though it's not purely intended for combat and putting monsters in it, I think maps like these add lots of atmosphere to my games. In this art pack you will find:
