Cleric Krissa's Pilgrimage:

"After yet another stair summited, finally I collapsed from exhaustion of both my body and mind. I abandoned the provisions brought on my journey, for they have proven useless as I do not hunger or fall victim to drowsiness, even after what I perceive to have been at least three weeks time. The fatigue from exertion still weighs upon me, however. Each stair stands nearly twice my height, and upon climbing each, another illusory scene plays out before me. It's as if I'm thrown into the past, to moments that I wish I never had to experience again.

This time it was my love, trapped in the fire, calling out for me to save him on that fateful night. My guilt and shame permeates me. I try again to save him, but again I cannot. The fear of the moment paralyzes me, and I'm reminded again and again how I put my own safety above his.

Each time I conquer a stair, the staircase seems to grow just slightly, keeping the beautiful gates of salvation out of reach. I now understand what I face. Every step forward is met with my misdeeds, my guilt, and my wrongdoings. I can only move closer when I truly prove my remorse and I face my sorrow. It is a test. I will never reach the gates until I am clear of conscience. This is my penance, and I fear it may take an eternity to atone..."
