A little River Fort
Don't let the raggedy appearance of the Buildings fool you. It is all protective colouration as it were. Most of the population have townhouses in the capital and commute daily to Willow Hill via the portal at Six Ways Corner. One of the 3 portals at the corner is permanently linked to the Dyers Guild Hall in the Capital for those that have the correct key-token.
The water-weeds hereabouts are edible. More importantly though, if they are dried and processed in a particular way, vivid blue, green, orange and yellow dyes can be extracted. This secret process may or may not involve various moulds collected from the cave on the other side of the river (A dangerous and mucky job that no one likes doing). Extracts from herbs and nuts both rare and common that are growing in the hilltop gardens and orchards are also used.
Of course, you will create your own stories about Willow Hill
Just remember, whatever you do, don't get stuck in the floating water-weeds, they are not as passive as they appear...
