Whether you are crossing pirate waters or hoping to avoid authorities yourself a small inconspicuous ship might be just what you need.
She gently tapped her fingers on the pommel of her cutlass. All the helmsman had to do was keep the ship steady as they approached port. The colourful statue that stood in the middle of the bay stared out to sea, a silent guardian posted at his eternal vigil. The copper-tiled roofs of the temples reflected the sunlight and stabbed into the eye, drawing attention to themselves as if vying for the adoration of the city’s faithful. The roofs could be seen from miles away, aiding in navigation during the day when the lighthouse did the same at night. Multiple ships were visible on the horizon, both approaching the port and leaving, multi-colored flags waved in the air silently declaring allegiance to this nation and that. Her ship didn’t have a flag, that is, it didn’t have just one. The clever captain used whatever rag was convenient for whatever port authority she was dealing with. This time the blue-red striped flag of the nation of Sauvignon was flapping above the top sail. At this pace they’d reach the city within the hour. All they had to do was stay the course and avoid the attention of the city’s great guardian. It wasn’t the first time they had done this, smuggled illegal cargo into port, you’d think she’d be used to it by now. By all accounts she was. Outwardly captain Swift was the very picture of confidence. Standing straight at 3 and a half feet tall, four if you count the red parrot feather pinned in her tricorn hat, the gnome’s wry smile exuded a confidence that inspired and reassured her crew, but everyone has a tell. The tapping turned to scratching as she saw the black shape in the water. A dark spot that grew like a small island suddenly forming in the middle of the sea. The kid in the crow’s nest shouted in alarm. Dammit all. They’d have to bribe the giant turtle after all.
I’m back again with another ship for you. This time you’ll notice it's a lot more mundane than any of the others I’ve made. That's because this ship is meant to be a sloop, and so it’s based on something a little bit more “real” though don’t go looking for historical accuracy here, you won’t find any. Instead in this token pack you’ll find:
When I was making this token set I did so because I needed it for one of my own games as always. I needed an inconspicuous ship for the players to smuggle things with and travel from place to place as they chase after adventure and profit on the high seas. Unlike my other “ship token packs” this one is actually meant to sail in water rather than among the stars but that doesn’t mean you can’t combine the various elements of my other token packs with this one. Want it to fly? Slap some wings on it from the Mosquito, make it weird.
But as it is a regular ship and not a space one, I’ve elected to give it this different logo than the other ships in my space themed series which may or may not allude to the fact that I may be making a new series focused on pirates of the black sea.
