In the attic you'll find some old things which you can tie in with your story along with a few guest beds and couch.
A storm door in the shed leads down into a food storage area. Upon closer inspection a secret entrance into an arcane lab can be found. The well also has a path to a cracked foundation wall. Use this as a creative option to get in or out in a hurry!
