Defend an inn from an overwhelming demon assault!

Assault on the Demon Inn is a Fifth Edition adventure intended for three to five characters of 5th level, and is optimized for four characters with an average party level (APL) of 5. Characters that complete the adventure should earn enough experience to progress halfway to 6th-level. The adventurers are tasked with investigating an inn that has suddenly gone quiet. A horrific array of demons, hags, and gore awaits them within. This adventure can be run as a one-shot in any city, or as the following chapter to Mausoleum of the Mirage Mage in the adventure trilogy, Chase of the Cursed Child. Plenty of healing items and a strong stomach will do a party well in this adventure. This adventure contains horror elements.

Background

Blutstrom is inundated with demons. Its been over a tenday since the first sightings were reported, and the trickle has become a flood. Door’s are triple locked, windows are barred, and the stench and filth of demons is prevalent on every street. Still, the most powerful lords and ladies of the abyss have yet to show. The lesser demons are searching for something, a key with which they can rend open the barriers between planes and spill forth the abyss’ glorious darkness. Alita Britesun is one such key. Sacrificing this seven-year-old font of raw magic will conjoin the two planes.

After being killed by adventurers, Greasy Bernice Slopdabble, a sea hag, has been brought back to life by her coven. Now, with their help, she has, invaded the Britesun Inn. All who opposed them were slaughtered, and the rest have fled, or hide in their rooms. With Alita and her parents trapped upstairs, they prepare a ritual to sacrifice her at the witching hour and fulfil their dark pact.
