A modron's bunker, a vault of the inevitables, or a puzzle of the Primus—this map could be any of these, or something else on the axis of law. Bring your adventures to Mechanus, Arcadia, or Acheron with this phased map. Includes gridded and gridless versions of both lava and liquid maps. Please note: this is an experimental map: it is "phased" AND dynamically lit. It uses phased map mechanics, and a wide layer of Dynamically Lit segments to achieve its effect. It may crash, glitch, and lag out. We've included Copy versions of each map, just in case the originals become irrevocably glitched out.
A "phased" map is actually a stack of maps on the map layer. Every time you put the top map "to back" via the right-click menu on the map layer, it reveals the next map in the stack, giving the illusion the map is changing. This map also includes a way of advancing the dynamically lit layer across the map as the gears "spin" around. See instructions below for more information.
The GM layer has white arrows that point in the direction the gear below it turns. There's also a dark dot on each gear that helps show how the gear is turning. It's up to you as the game master to determine what happens when a wall bumps into a character, what happens when a character steps on the gear teeth, or when they step on the liquid (acid) or the lava.
We suggest you familiarize yourself with how the map works before using it in a live game. (Do a little practice beforehand.)
To advance the phased map, and give the illusion the gears are spinning, do the following (if you make a mistake or move a part of the map accidentally, you should be able to undo it by pressing Ctrl+z):
Shortcut keys can be turned on by going to the Roll20 "My settings" gear > Keyboard Shortcuts > click on "Use advanced keyboard shortcuts" box.
Good luck. I hope this experimental map works out for you!
