How about exploring the world instead of jumping from dungeon to dungeon? (can be used without playing in crawl style, using tables for randomness only)
In this package you will find a vast set of large and automated tables, so with just a few clicks, you will be able to discover new locations in the best Hexcrawl style, letting your creative imagination flow; as well as random encounters of monsters, npcs and even events.
In a game of Hexcrawl, the GM starts by creating the starting area where the group will start the adventure, being able to count on the help of the other players to popularize this point, taking advantage of the origins of the characters made for the adventure.
It is important to have a place of origin to set the adventure and to place it as a reference point: this is where the characters will return to spend their treasures, seek rest, healing, training and clues for new adventures.
It is not necessary, however, to detail this place excessively, because we do not want the starting point to have too much “gravity”, in order to attract the focus of the story for you. We want players to be on a constant journey.
Use the macrosbar or use the command lists below directly in the chat:
To quickly discover a new location on the hexagonal map (only the GM can view, tell us how you prefer)
To raffle one of the random encounters, then just click on the raffle in the chat itself (only the GM can view, tell us how you prefer)
To draw a new effect (only the GM can view, tell us how you prefer)
1 - Choose any reference on the map, create a city, where players can have their hometown, or simply be there for some reason.
2 - Create any initial mission that somehow gets players out of the base city.
Example: Rescuing a husband who got lost outside the city ...
3 - Players must select which direction to go (to which hexagon they go)
4 - From there, just run the randomness, or by clicking on the Locations macrobar and after defining what the hex is about, click on the Enconter macrobar to define a possible encounter. Remember, you can always use the commands #Locations and #Encounter directly in the chat, instead of clicking on macrobars.
Feel free to make small adjustments and even more than one meeting at each location, as well as not necessarily having to roll a meeting in each hexagon discovered, use common sense and let the game flow in a fun way for everyone.
Remember to sporadically use the climate scroll, this will bring more dynamism, depth and immersion to your table.
You can use the icons to fill the map as you discover areas, or you can use your own hexagon images.
