Sanctum of the Final Dusk

A scholar at the Great Library recently uncovered an old tome written long before the dawn of The Empire. This tome described the end of days from the old realms, and an event known as “The Final Dusk”. On that day, there was a great war going on between civilizations far advanced for their age. It also spoke of relics beyond comprehension. Relics that could harness the essence of life itself. The tome also spoke of a great battle known as the Final Dusk and of the apocalyptic destruction of all civilizations. In this Final Dusk, the Gods took this relic known as a Macco Crystal and shattered it into pieces and hid them away in the seven corners of the world. They did this to protect mankind from itself and from the powers they should never possess.

Through much research, scholars at the Great Library have deciphered clues that hint to the location of a nearby shard from the Macco Crystal in a nearby Ruin behind Dusk Falls. One of the scholars gathered a small expedition to escort him into the ruins, but he has yet to return months later. The Grand Master worries for the well being of his finest pupil, and the man who he feels will replace him in his high position one day. Therefore he aims to hire someone to investigate the ruins and hopefully rescue the missing scholar.

This adventure is designed for three to seven 7th-level characters and is optimized for five characters with an average party level (APL) of 7.
