5e Magic Items Vol. 4: Vikings and Samurai

Relics of Ragnarok and Spoils of the Samurai

Welcome, adventurer, to Loot Tavern! Dr. Indi Anna Shones has returned once more after raiding the tomb— ahem trading —in the far north and east.

Do you remember an unspecified number of years ago when that giant snake rose out of the sea flooding everything, the lord of the gods was eaten by the giant werewolf, and the ship of bones ferried hordes of monsters from the edge of the ocean? There was a big battle and lots of gods died? Then some adventurer's turned up and saved the day? Yeah that one. These are the relics of that age. Channel the allfather's wisdom, summon the spirit of the golden boar, or step into the skins of beasts with these nordic artifacts.

I'm sure you've heard of the myths of oni, kitsune, and tengu. Well, news just in, they're not myths. This consignment of magical items — elemental katanas, magical masks, and a deadly assortment of evening wear — includes the heirlooms of shoguns, concubines, and emperors. It's all listed in our handy ledger. Take a look!

Rarity Variants

Rarity variants bring the total number of items up to 81, and allow you to have the magic item grow with the player as they level up. Give them an uncommon version at level 3, and upgrade the item’s power as they become heroes of the realm! Or don’t, it’s up to you :)

Usability

As a GM, getting everything ready for your players is no small task. Our goal is to make it all a little bit easier for you! We think Loot Tavern’s magic item packs are the most user-friendly out there, check out these features:

  1. Art-only, unidentified handouts - these have no names or info so your players don’t see what they’re identifying.
  2. Full mechanics handouts - these have all the text in the player info so they can copy and paste it into their character sheet, and you can change it as you see fit!
  3. Hyperlinks - quickly flick between identified and unidentified versions as well as attached new spells!
  4. Metadata tags - use keywords such as ‘rare’, ‘attunement’, or ‘weapon’ to find an item quickly.

What’s more, we have an active Patreon and Discord. If you have any questions, we will answer! If you have feedback, we can provide errata! Click a link to talk to us.
