The Lightless Beacon is a short standalone introductory scenario for Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition, designed for novice Keepers and players - though there’s plenty here to enjoy for more experienced players and Keepers, too. It comes with four pre-generated investigators and should take around an hour to play. Advice is also given on adapting the game for 2–6 investigators, as well as how to expand the scenario for longer sessions.

To mark the first anniversary of the passing of Chaosium founder Greg Stafford, Chaosium is encouraging their fans and gamers in general to play a tabletop game in his memory from October 10 to October 31.

To support that, Chaosium is releasing a set of new FREE adventures for all of their major game systems (RuneQuest, Call of Cthulhu, King Arthur Pendragon, 7th Sea, HeroQuest) you can play. The Lightless Beacon is the new Call of Cthulhu adventure.

If you'd like to try another scenario, you can also play the Quick-Start Rules module for free! It has everything you need to begin exploring the Cthulhu mythos, including an adventure with pre-generated characters and an introduction to the arcane lore of Call of Cthulhu. It's already in your Module menu when starting a new game on Roll20.

Accessing your content

Module

• To create a new game based off of the module, click on the Start New Game option from the site menu. The column on the right hand side of the page is titled Optional: Choose a Module. Underneath this are thumbnail tiles for all the various Roll20 modules that are available. For the ones you have purchased, mousing over the thumbnail will make a check mark icon appear over the thumbnail tile. Clicking on the tile will select this module to be used as the base for this new game.

Which Character Sheet should I use?

• Please use the Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition character sheet.
