The Saltpool Terraces separate the upper sea from the lower, The great geyser erupts with mineral rich torrents in the upper sea and slowly they flow over the mountain side depositing their minerals and forming countless pools and rivers. The people of the region believe among these sacred pools lie portals, windows into time where one can peer and see how their life might turn out depending on the choices they make. Divining Dowser Wizards make frequent visits to them they say to seek to glimpse their fate, but the public secret is that its really just to the region's best vacation spot.

This map is a collection of maps from the region of Rayion, in my setting Crudilex. Inspired by Pamukkale in Turkey, Yellowstone, the sulfur lake in Indonesia, the Danakil Depression in Ethiopia, and various other unique hydrological regions in our world. I’m endlessly fascinated by ways water behaves and the extremes are so unbelievably beautiful to look at and so alien.
