Broad steps descend down a wide passage sheathed in limestone. The walls are decorated with painted scenes showing captives of all sorts suffering death by water, wind, and fire. The pictures seem to emit a fiery glow when watched.
Darkness quickly consumes what light came from above and the only aid comes from the occasional flame dancing in it's wall mounted sconce. A draft of air billows up from the dungeon carrying scents of soot and rotten flesh. Skitters and whispers are heard echoing further within the stone hallways.
