Everyone on the farmstead was fast asleep when the object fell from the stars and landed in the old well. Only a slight tremor was felt as it landed in deep water, which was quickly dismissed as they went back to their peaceful slumber. They didn’t notice the water had a minor metallic taste the next day, nor did they put too much thought into the animals’ erratic behavior. Sure, the dog was barking a lot and the cattle seemed…absent. But when you live on a farm these are not exceptional occurrences. When night came again, and they finally noticed the unearthly colors slowly drifting out of the well, it was too late. The changes had already started…
