This “Vigilance” class listening post is a deep-space station that can serve a variety of functions. At just over 160 feet tall, it houses a permanent crew of 10. There are also barracks and facilities provided for 16 additional personnel or guests.
The power core at the bottom of the station produces a steady pulse of blue-white light when in operation, causing some to compare the outpost to an inverted lighthouse. Other, less kind observers liken it to a brown metal mushroom hanging in the void.
In addition to being a com relay and advanced warning system, it can serve as a re-supply point or "truck stop" in space as well as a security center for local law enforcement. A pair of shuttle bays store short-range patrol craft and the upper level holds a detention center and administrative area.
Vanguard Station can be a base of operations, a setting for adventure, or just a backdrop to help bring your campaigns to life.
