What does this area, inspired by Baldur's gate City Sewers, have to offer?

If you are curious to venture beneath the streets of the city, you might find your party in the sewers of the city. Down the ladders, a maze of tunnels lays ahead of you that twist around the map and can be home to rats and anything else that was not welcome on the surface. After making your way through the tunnels, you find yourself in a large cavernous area outside of the tunnels. Here the pipes open up and years of debris have built up. Sewage water washes up on the dirt, like waves on a beach, and pillars reach high from their murky depths. For those willing to travel deeper into the sewers and once more through the different tunnels that lay ahead of you, you will find yourself in the sewage treatment area. Strange machines pump away at the sewage waters in this stone-tiled area. Are the machines left to work themselves, or do guards wish to protect such vital infrastructure of the city?
The City Sewers can be filled with more than just sewage water; perhaps these sewers are below a dwarven city that uses lava as its fuel for its forges. Alternatively, a lava-filled option has been overwhelmed by spiders over many years, leaving their giant webs clingy from all the pipe work and walls. Here the sewers have not been manned by humans or the sort for years, some of their bodies still remain as nothing more than husky cacoons, but that does not mean you are alone, as dangers can still roam these toxic tunnels. Lastly is the sewers after what appears to be a battle of sorts. Bloodied bodies lay littered throughout the tunnels and strewn across a makeshift campsite by the river of sewer water. In the main structure of the sewers, the remains of what appears to be a battle. Did everyone die in the exchange, or are there dangers that still you could face? What mysteries lay in the depths of the sewers? What could possibly bring adventurers to a place like this?
