Some time in the recent past, a dabbler in magic and science decided that they wanted to assemble a laboratory among the clouds. Not unusual for those wizardly types, but this one decided to approach the task not by creating floating architecture, oh no. They decided to transmute the clouds themselves into a foundation. How that still floats I don't know, but float it does. A heavy collection of rocks, shaped like fluffy clouds now hangs above the plains, all villages anywhere underneath it decided to make some re-location plans. It still hangs there in the air, with the wizard up there somewhere, feeling like it should fall. Even stranger still, it still rains and snows.
