A large [45x75] castle ruin that can be slowly renovated and rebuilt in 5 phases.
Together with night versions and 10 rooms that can be used as floors of the keep
An adventure in different building phases:
Your players reach the ruin (because of a quest or because they already own the ruin). Here they first have to clean up monsters or bandits.
They set up camp, but still have to deal with the effects of their cleaning. They may also have to complete quests in the surrounding villages to help workers and then hire them for construction. You will need architects, carpenters, stonemasons, simple construction workers and much more!
Now wood is purchased in large quantities and the renovation can begin. Perhaps there will now be competitors in the form of other castle owners nearby. He also wants to expand his castle and you fight over the same resources of workers and materials.
First, the defense needs to be improved and a larger fight on the wooden patches of the wall is also conceivable. Now the first stones are being brought in for renovation. A lot can go wrong on a construction site. Your heroes are site managers now. A hard job in real life, but with curses and monsters on the construction site, it gets really bad. Maybe materials are stolen at night and one morning the workers were kidnapped by the neighbor to work for him
Now the shell is finished and the walls are in place. Time for interior work! Now we have to go to the nearby market to get all the things for the indoor area. The market will be expensive at the very least and there may be numerous incidents on the way there.
The castle is finished and equipped and can serve as a great base for your heroes for their future adventures! Maybe a final battle for the castle as a finale? Monsters rise up at the festive inauguration, awakened by the disturbed spirits of the old castle. Or the neighbor has really had enough and moves with his men in front of the heroes' castle. Afterwards, everyone deserve a big party!
I wish you a lot of fun with this castle and hope that your heroes will be happy to have a true result in front of them at the end of the day!
