Dual World's Races: The Ikunen

The Duranii, Known for their connection to each other, the support and care they show to their people. These insectoid creatures may seem strange to outsiders because they metamorphosize their way through all the castes, and job profiles, including if they are lucky - the highest status - ruling class.
The Few that fail these transformations are called The Ikunen - roughly translating to "Unchanged" but the reality is, many of them are outcast. Unable to live their lives there but not connected to the hive-mind it becomes isolating, depressing, lonely. Add to that a loss of worth, effectively considered children - to be cared for but given no responsibility - most flee the city and become adventurers
