Villagelder’s Castle Crafter

Make your medieval castle come alive with Villagelder’s Castle Crafter. Quickstart Guide

Create a new Page in your Roll20 game.
Arrange floor and ground pieces on your Map Layer a. Snap each Villagelder’s Castle Crafter® piece to your appropriate grid size
Add Walls to create perimeters of chambers and corridors in ¾ isometric view and use prefab buildings as necessary a. Shrink and enlarge pieces to approximate same stone, window, door, and other fixture sizes b. Match edges, corners, perspective planes by moving pieces ‘To Back’ and ‘To Front’ in Roll20 token submenu
Optionally, add dynamic lighting

Isometric Construction Notes

• Build individual buildings larger than originally needed, then group and shrink to your appropriate size
• Use pieces to design exterior and perimeter design but remove any that become obstructed by overhead pieces
• Remind yourself continually, in Isometric perspective there is no perspective except the piece that you are looking at - this means there is no vanishing point or horizon line for the picture as a whole
• Right angles are created on the X and Y axis (left-right, and up-down) on the grid; this is generally your overhead (2D) view
• Isometric 3D perspective is created by creating lines (real and imaginary) that bisect those axes creating a Z-axis at 45 degrees – most ‘square’ cuts in VCC are created within those three axis
• Most pieces can be utilized in multiple ways simply by rotating, resizing, or flipping the pieces with Roll20’s token submenu.
