The stench of death permeates every corner of this space as you enter, making it hard to pinpoint its rotten origin. Glancing further in, it becomes swiftly apparent that from the barred cells to the barrels of foreign substance and the pile of crates stacked alongside freshly exhumed coffins, there is no singular origin to the thickness in this air.
The warm glow from the torch fire is contrasted by the soft glow of the green vats the room on the far side of the room, casting everything in a sickly pallor. The native crystals of these catacombs appear to have been harnessed to generate some form of energy to link the isolated surgeon's chair in the centre of this room with vats standing sentinel along the sides, disturbing silhouettes casting warped shadows in the liquid.
Deep inside the grand vat a shape shifts, an Elder Brain, bubbles rolling over it’s wrinkled surface as the water flows around its great mass. Unwilling captive, or mastermind of this arcane construction, it’s hard to tell, but undoubtedly foolish to wait around to find out!
