The Royal Game of Ur is a 5000 year-old, two-player board game played across the ancient world for over 3,000 years, with variations lasting until the 1950s. Although it's true rules are currently lost to history, a few scholars have uncovered a couple clay tables with cuneiform writing and revealed some of its secrets, yet all of its rules and a complete game are merely speculation. It is generally understood to be a race game with strategy elements.
I have meticulously researched the rules that have been surmised by scholars, adapted them for an exciting game, and painted a beautiful and authentic board - for your fun and mine! Included here you will find the basic and advanced rules, as well as my own twist on the rules and alternative options for game play, including rules for 3 and 4 players.
