There are few things more fun than a themed campaign, and what better theme than Halloween! My play group does a holiday themed game ever year. While there is a hollow and a headless horseman, this adventure is not based on the Sleepy Hollow story. The group of 1st level adventurers have decided to vie for the reward for solving the mystery of the headless horseman, a being which plagued the idyllic town of Weepy Hollow a decade ago, and has returned just prior to All Hallow's Eve to terrorize them once again, for reasons unknown. The village is deeply detailed, with many NPCs to encounter and interrogate. The village battlemap is 120x70, with many items on it, giving you lots of room to explore. There are 6 additional battlemaps and many encounters, including some original monsters and items. The party has 1 week until All Hallow's Eve to investigate, and hopefully stop the horseman before he takes his intended victim, just like he did 10 years ago when he took the head of the town benefactor. The story is rich, the battlemaps realistic, the NPCs detailed, and there are many, many tokens to enrich your gaming experience.
Designed for 3 or more 1st level characters. There is a lot of opportunity for role-playing, as well as many encounters. Playing time will likely be at least 15 hours or more. This is the 1st adventure in a trilogy, although each can be played as a stand-alone adventure. The 2nd adventure is Through Enemy Lines, and the conclusion to the Gaunt Chronicles trilogy is The Dragon Riders.
