Along a quiet trade road in the forests of Central Latakar, a caravan lies torn apart. Horses are left where they fell, supplies scattered across the path, and the forest carries a sound that should never belong to the wild: laughter. The tracks that lead away from the massacre belong to a gnoll warpack driven mad by the spreading influence of the Laughing Curse.
As reports of attacks and strange laughter spread across the forest roads of Central Latakar, the adventurers follow the trail of a violent gnoll warpack gathering near the ruins of an ancient temple. What begins as a hunt through woodland paths and broken caravans soon reveals something far more dangerous. The gnolls are not simply raiding. They are protecting a ritual that strengthens the curse infecting their pack.
From ambushes along forest roads to skirmishes among flooded temple ruins, the party must track the warpack and survive constant attacks from frenzied gnolls. At the heart of the ruins, a Gnoll Necroscribe channels the Laughing Curse through the temple while a brutal Gnoll Warpack Lord and its hunters defend the ritual.
Features relentless gnoll ambushes, escalating curse effects, tactical battlefield pressure, and a brutal final confrontation against a warpack determined to spread its madness.
Laughing Howls is a 5th edition, level 4 adventure set in the Starlight Chronicles, focused on hunting a cursed gnoll warpack across the forests of Central Latakar. Over three acts, players investigate a destroyed caravan, track the pack through flooded temple ruins, and confront the ritual that amplifies the Laughing Curse.
Designed as a difficult scenario for experienced players, this adventure emphasizes constant pressure, aggressive enemies, and a final battle that forces the party to fight through multiple threats while stopping the ritual at the center of the warpack.
This adventure can be adapted to your own campaign, played as a one-shot, or be part of the Starlight Chronicles setting that connects everything made by Kelfecil's Tales.

This adventure can be played at any level by adjusting the number of monsters in it as well as their behavior. It has been made with Roll20 in mind and can therefore run very smoothly on this Virtual TableTop.
