High above Olbia’s lower rings, the Astral Academy stands sealed behind flickering wards and strained containment sigils. A routine lesson in astral observation went wrong when a powerful telescope crystal was miscalibrated, flooding the academy with unstable arcane energy. Constructs roam without restraint, apprentices are trapped in collapsing wings, and something far more dangerous is forming at the heart of the observatory.

The adventurers are brought in as a response team to a growing crisis. What begins as containment and rescue quickly turns into a race against time as the academy’s safeguards fail one by one.

Adventure Description

Class Dismissed is a contained, high-pressure adventure set within the Astral Academy of Olbia. Players must stabilize malfunctioning enchantments, navigate hostile constructs, and rescue stranded students while uncovering what truly caused the observatory’s failure.

As the situation escalates, lingering astral energy coalesces into a dangerous manifestation known as the Astral Parallax. The party’s choices, speed, and priorities directly shape the difficulty of the final confrontation and the academy’s fate.

Class Dismissed is a 5th edition, level 4 adventure set in the Starlight Chronicles setting. It blends investigation, environmental hazards, and escalating combat with meaningful consequences tied to player decisions.

Designed as an emergency response scenario rather than a traditional dungeon crawl, the adventure introduces the Student Safety mechanic, rewarding decisive action while forcing hard trade-offs under pressure.

This adventure can be adapted to your own campaign, played as a one-shot, or be part of the Starlight Chronicles setting that connects everything made by Kelfecil's Tales.
