Musketeers is a monster supplement for 5e that presents an elite royal guard drawn from the swashbuckling traditions of gunpowder-era fantasy. Rather than treating musketeers as generic soldiers with firearms, this book focuses on disciplined duelists, political operatives, and court agents who operate at the intersection of battlefield command and palace intrigue.
The intent of this product is mechanical clarity and encounter variety without CR inflation. The roster progresses from the everyday presence of the musketeer corps through increasingly influential specialists, capping at CR 6 so these characters remain powerful figures within settlements, cities, and royal courts rather than world-ending threats. Musketeers influence encounters through positioning, discipline, and coordinated action rather than brute escalation.
Lore surrounding the corps is intentionally minimal. Whether these musketeers serve a benevolent crown, a corrupt monarchy, or a fractured noble state is left to the GM. The rivalries, loyalties, and politics that shape their actions are tools for your campaign. Use these stat blocks as flexible agents of authority, honor, ambition, or intrigue.
