Addon: Content which can be added into any game - new or existing!

Price: FREE

Along the supply roads leading toward Rordon Gamsay’s arcane kitchen tower, something has gone wrong. Shipments fail to arrive. Spoiled ingredients retain unnatural heat. In a nearby town, living food stalks the streets after dark.

What began as unsanctioned experimentation has spilled beyond controlled kitchens and reinforced wards. Apprentices have fled. Containment has failed. And the consequences are no longer confined to the tower’s walls.

The adventurers are drawn into a growing crisis that moves fast and punishes hesitation. Each delay costs lives. Each choice leaves marks that carry forward.

Adventure Description

A Taste of Madness is a fast-paced, three-act adventure centered on containment, escalation, and consequence. The party follows a trail of unstable culinary magic from a ruined supply cart, into a town overwhelmed by panic, and finally into a hidden laboratory where forbidden techniques were tested without oversight.

Across all three acts, player decisions directly shape how dangerous the situation becomes. Civilians may be saved or lost. Evidence may survive or burn. The final confrontation reflects what the party managed to preserve or failed to protect along the way.

A Taste of Madness is a 5th edition adventure designed for characters of levels 4-5. It blends environmental hazards, mobile combat, and pressure-driven mechanics that reward decisive action and situational awareness.

Rather than a traditional dungeon crawl, the adventure presents a series of containment failures at increasing scale. Living food behaves as both enemy and hazard, forcing players to manage space, prioritize threats, and accept trade-offs under stress.

The adventure also functions as a direct narrative lead-in to the tower crawl found in Rordon Gamsay’s Extraordinary Cookbook, showing what happens when the tower’s techniques are copied without restraint.

This adventure can be adapted to your own campaign, played as a one-shot, or be part of the Starlight Chronicles setting that connects everything made by Kelfecil's Tales.
