When the fields of Mossbend blacken and the swamp’s fog begins to glow, rumors spread of a cursed hill where pumpkins whisper to the dead. The adventurers follow the trail into the heart of the Lebenin Swamp, where the ancient Gourdmother stirs within her withered oak. Each step deeper into the Hollow brings them closer to the source of her necromantic bloom, an ancient curse that feeds on faith, blood, and the promise of eternal harvest.
Zumpkin Hollow traps the adventurers within a fog-choked swamp haunted by the remnants of the Gourdmother’s cult. Act 1 leads them up the twisted hill where the corruption first took root, confronting waves of Pumpkultists and the restless dead. Act 2 drags them into the heart of the swamp, where glowing sap, burning vines, and possessed pumpkins blur the line between plant and flesh. Act 3 erupts in chaos beneath the massive oak, as twin Gourdhead Regents rise from the roots to defend their mother’s awakening.
This adventure blends grim harvest horror, wave-based combat, and cinematic escalation. It is perfect for groups who enjoy desperate fights against overwhelming odds, eerie natural magic, and haunting autumnal atmosphere.
Zumpkin Hollow is a 5th edition, level 7 horror adventure set in the swampy depths of Central Latakar. Designed for 1 to 2 sessions (4 to 6 hours total), it combines attrition-based combat, environmental hazards, and creeping dread inspired by folk legends of cursed harvests. Ideal for players who enjoy atmospheric storytelling, tactical tension, and the unsettling beauty of decay.
