An adventurer returns from a cursed city. A sister’s hope. A secret that should never have come back…
Zaillo vanished in the ruins of A’Nelia a month ago, seeking riches to share with his beloved sister, Inda. But just as she is ready to hire a crew to go after him, he returns... with strange stories, haunting eyes, and a plan to lead them all back to the depths.
But what if he’s not truly back? What if something else came with him?
This is a one-shot adventure designed for a party of 3 to 5, level 5 characters. The Returned Brother weaves together dramatic social intrigue, underwater combat, and an emotional exploration of trust and identity. Players must travel to a cursed city, survive ambushes and arcane traps, and confront a hydra with puppet strings tied to the heart of the tale.
The players are approached by Inda, a young Nalar soldier desperate to find her brother. But when Zaillo returns of his own accord, promising treasure and discovery, the party joins the siblings on a journey back into the ruins of A’Nelia.
What they find is a haunted city, ancient libraries filled with enchanted knowledge, and a brother whose mind is not his own. In the shadow of a temple, the players must fight to either save Zaillo, or let him go.
This adventure can be adapted to your own campaign, played as a one-shot, or be part of the Starlight Chronicles setting that connects everything made by Kelfecil's Tales.

This adventure can be played at any level by adjusting the number of monsters in it as well as their behavior. It has been made with Roll20 in mind and can therefore run very smoothly on this Virtual TableTop.
