The College of the Scatman is the home of bards who mastered the art of scat singing. Scat singing is vocal improvisation with wordless vocables, nonsense syllables or without words at all. In scat singing, the singer improvises melodies and rhythms using the voice as an instrument rather than a speaking medium. The bards of this college are regarded with a mixture of respect and incredulity. The typical College of the Scatman Bard has a great, albeit off color, sense of humor. A Bard of this college loves life, and is often very passionate about their music. The College of the Scatman teaches it's Bards to always appreciate the smaller pleasures in life. As such they tend to be unorthodox, yet jovial and easy to get along with. The favored instrument for this college is a Guitar but other instruments can also be effectively used.
